Mid-Festival
Today I think I have the best job in the whole organization. I just sent out emails to artists informing them that their piece(s) sold and another round of emails to art patrons about the art they purchased. Everyone is so happy. I need to remember how great this feels when people are angry at me for their art not selling.

Teaching in the midst of SEAF & Paradise
Today, tickets for the 10th Annual Seattle Erotic Art Festival went on sale. To celebrate, the Launch Party is tonight at Neumo's. (Tickets are still available at the door for $25.) I am reminded of how incredibly close I am to this beloved event. I still have much to do, and I feel fairly calm about it all. I hope I am not delusional.
Today is also the day of the last Artist Workshop, which focuses on matting 2D art and offers special information about packing and delivering your art to the Festival. This workshop is free for Festival Accepted Artists and $10 for everyone else. We will be in the Annex of the CSPC from 2-4pm.
Tomorrow, we'll send out the rest of the letters for Paradise Unbound presenters. I must say, this year's line up is impressive and the classes are richly diverse. Lots of personal growth and just plain sexy classes, no matter what you think is sexy. Paradise will sell out, so make sure to check your calendar and if you can join us in August, even if just for a day or two, you will have an incredible time learning and having fun.
In the midst of preparing for the Festival, I have a new class I am teaching next week. The Body's Edge: Skin Anatomy for Kink. I am very excited to finally feel ready to teach about a body system that is so amazing. Until recently, I haven't felt that I could really talk about the skin in relation to BDSM activities such as needles, cuttings and brands. I had so little experience that while I had all this anatomical knowledge, I didn't have the practical experiences to apply it. Well, now I do.
This class is for both the curious through the seasoned veteran of blood play and other activities that break the skin. Experienced players are going to learn the why behind the things they know. For the newer, or curious, player, you'll get a lot of info to help you decide which type of play is right for what you want to create. I'll be covering the skin's healing process and capabilities so that you can knowledgeably help or hinder that process, thereby affecting the level of scarring. Of course, I can't make any promises about results, as everyone's skin is so different. It will be fascinating, that I know I can promise!

We need an Installation Art Director!
The Installation Art Director has an interesting role,
interfacing directly with artists who are creating interactive work for
the Festival. He/she works closely with me to curate the incoming
submissions, dole out the grant funding we have to offer, and facilitate
these projects reaching fruition. It's a fun job that requires an open
mind, a sense of humor, good organization skills, some artistic
sensibilities, and the unique style of diplomacy necessary to
successfully manage artists.
Please share the above with anyone you think might be interested. They can contact the Seattle Erotic Art Festival's Director at clayton@seattleerotic.org with questions or to express interest.

Being a part of art.
One of my greatest joys is helping an artist bring their vision to life. I, and the five other models in the Newton's Cradle, got the sweetest email from the artist, Jim Duvall.
Pssst! If you love art, you can volunteer to be an Art Guide and share knowledge about the various art that was juried and invited into the exhibition.
I just wanted to thank you all for being a part of a great piece of art. and let you know some of the reception it has gotten so far.You can see this piece of art, and purchase it at the Seattle Erotic Art Festival May 20th through 22nd.
It has already been awarded the. following accolades, Deviant Art Daily Deviation. If you are not a member you will not see the image but you can read the comments. There are over 400. The fun ones are when we all get called Nazis 2-3 pages down. It is already ranked in the top 150 fetish images of all time there in only a week.
Model Mayhem Picture of the day.
Model insider Picture of the day.
Besides getting a enormous amount of comments on FetLife.
So a very heartfelt thank you to you all. I could not have done this without you.

If you aren't quite sure what you want to do, join us on Saturday, April 23 for the Big Volunteer Meeting. This is an important meeting for all volunteers, and a great chance for those of you who want to learn more and get involved.
Please spread the word and recruit your friends!

Thank you!
I am incredibly grateful to every artist who took the time to submit their art to the jury for a chance to be a part of the visual art exhibition!
Now we will be heads-down working on getting everything ready for the jury and going through the selection process. We should be done by March 8th and will let everyone know the results then. Please be patient with us.
There are still other calls for art open for Literary & Film exhibitions, not to mention Installations are wanted, so tell your friends to get on that.
This first deadline indicates my withdrawal from anything not Festival related. This year I am going to do my best to still do things not art related. I may need people to invite me to events, though, so I remember that there is more to life than the Festival.
Here we go! Wheeeeee!
